We are proud to declare that all of our bamboo products are made from organically certified bamboo. We know that the term “organic” has been used to label products that aren’t necessarily 100% organic. We don’t agree with calling a product organic unless it can be proven from the start of the growing process all the way to finished product. We’d like to show you how we can guarantee that our products are in fact made from 100% organically certified bamboo.
All Shoo-foo products are made of cellulose from organically certified bamboo.
Both the bamboo forest and the bamboo crops we use are certified organic. The bamboo forest is certified by the Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA) and by Ecocert and the bamboo crops are certified organic by the USDA seal and Ecocert.
100% organic from start to finish
The bamboo fibers used by Shoo-foo to manufacture and weave its products have obtained the FSC Chain of Custody Certification – meaning that from the bamboo forest to the fibers, all successive stages of production meet the criteria and rules requested to assure a responsible stewardship of the world’s forests.
Our organic bamboo products are healthy for babies
Finally, all the bamboo fibers used by Shoo-foo have received the Oeko-tex 100 class 1 certification for baby articles which means that the products are ecologically harmless for human health.
Where brides are concerned, Shoo-Foo also recently underwent an application and is now recognized as an approved “Green Vendor” by the Green Bride Guide. The Green Bride Guide directory ensures that a company is not trying to “green wash” their product, trying to seem eco-friendly when really they are not. If you are curious about our rating and how we fared, feel free to view our green vendor profile. We have also written a blog post telling our story about it, called “Shoo-Foo is an approved “Green” wedding vendor!”
