The air feels cooler, the days are getting shorter, and the new school season is in full swing. Sounds like Fall to me! One of the best parts of the season is getting to cozy up in your home. Looking for ways to change your home decor to match the changing season?
This year’s Fall home decor trends include neutral palettes, rustic wood pieces, and bold accents! See our list below for 5 of the hottest Fall home decor trends and how you can spruce up your home.
A muted palette creates a comforting space. Neutrals don’t just mean beige and brown. Neutrals can include mauves, muted blues, grays, in addition to creamy whites and tans. Neutral palettes are great because they allow your accent pieces to really pop.
Natural Wood Pieces
Natural wood pieces are great. They add a rustic feel to any home. Whether it’s your coffee table or a shabby-chic mantlepiece, an exposed wood surface brings a bit of the outdoors inside.
Rugs are an inexpensive way to change the entire look of your room. Stick with the natural palette or choose bold colors and patterns that stand out. You can even combine rugs to create a layered look. Start with a larger rug made of natural fibres (like bamboo!) and layer a smaller plush rug with bold stripes for a living room that looks effortlessly put-together.
Metallics are very in. They add a bit of glam to any piece. We’re not suggesting you cover an entire accent wall in gold leaf, but a candy dish or mug with gold details can provide the right amount of sophistication. You could even do it yourself with a gold or silver sharpie!
There’s nothing better than soft, cozy pillows, throws and blankets to ease you into the colder weather. Save money and swap your pillowcases for something more seasonal. Choose a combination of colors, patterns and fabrics to add variety and create a homey feel.
